2.5" SSD to USB 3 port connection

Hi, I have trouble connecting a 2.5" SSD to my USB 3 port. My hardware is a Gigabyte P2742 with Windows 8.1 OS. The SSD I'm trying to connect can be seen here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OAJ412U?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00

Hey there, apbtboy.

I'd recommend that you try connecting the drive to a different computer with the same adapter, to see if the same thing happens. If you still have no luck with that, you should try connecting the SSD internally via a standard SATA connection and if everything seems to be OK with it, then it should be the SATA to USB adapter which would mean that it might be faulty.
