I just got a barebones computer in today because I didn't want to go through the hassle of installing a CPU and motherboard in a case (lazy I know). I decided to install my 2 1TB hard drives in the rig and instead of using my DDR3 sticks I decided to go with brand new ram because I wanted to get 8 GB sticks as the new motherboard supports up to 64GB in 4 slots. The problem I am having is that the computer is only recognizing 8GB instead of 16GB. Here are my specs
Asus 55BM-Plus Motherboard
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10D-16GBXL
AMD A-8 6600K
The odd thing is both sticks are recognized by the bios.. It shows a stick in A1 and B1 and no sticks in A2 and B2 like it is supposed to. I have DOCP turned on and set to 1866 but it wasn't recognizing both before turning that on either. In the BIOS it shows 8192MB total memory but in the advanced options where you can click on individual DIMMS it shows the full stats for A1 and then nothing for A2 and the same stats for B1 as A1 as it should. The memory is installed correctly and shows up but the system isn't using it in the BIOS or Windows at all. I also checked the Resource Monitor in windows and there is only 828MB in Hardware Reserved so it's not reserving it for hardware it's just not showing up. The stick was brand new and had no problems installing. I tried A2 and B2 first (same color) and had the problem then switched to A1 and B1 and the problem remains (A1 and B1 are the same color and different color from A2 and B2). I'm stumped any help would be awesome, thanks
Update: http://
As you can see by the image CPU-Z shows it is there but the system can't use any of it for some reason.
Forgot to mention I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64. I looked for memory remapping in the bios and can't seem to find that option.
