2 Beep and amber flashing light on dell vostro.

Okay so i had 2 beeps looping and an amber flashing light on my dell vostro 220.
It was working last night when i shut it down but when i woke up this morning it happened.

I found out that this was something to do with ram.. so i opened her up and took one stick of ram out and put it back in... this seems to have fixed everything... but it seems like it was too easy.

All my 4 gigs of ram is recognised and usable. 2 sticks of 2 gig

Will this happen to me again?

What caused this in the first place?

Hi there SkinnyBobz,

Two beeps means that the system can't detect the RAM. In such cases, you need to reseat it as well as change the slot(if the first doesn't work). It is possible that your RAM is just fine. I would advise you to download some memory testing tool and test both sticks.
