Hi there,
We were doing some real time rendering work at the office here and suddenly the machine siezed up and needed to be shut down.
Now however, whenever we try and start it up again, it gives 2 short beeps, followed by one long beep, nothing showing on any monitor.
I took the GPU out of the machine, and then plugged the monitor straight into the mobo, and then it was able to boot-up - clearly this is a GPU problem.
My question is: is the GPU just completely knackered or can it be salvaged? Its an EVGA 980Ti, and when i try to bootup with it still installed in the machine the fans still run.
The GPU obviously runs a little hot when doing enscape renderings, but it was still hovering at 70'C at the time it froze, nothing too out of the ordinary.
Can it be saved? Or is this just glorious timing with the new 2080s right around the corner?
thanks in advance
