Hello guys,
Today upon booting, my PC beeped twice, followed by nothing (I gave it probably approx. 5-6 minutes). I had no clue what 2 beeps mean, so I turned to Google, and it seemed like the most common suggestion was removing the RAM sticks.
I removed one stick, and upon booting, I still heard 2 beeps, however, my desktop came up within ~2 minutes. I tried removing that stick and using the one I had previously removed, and the results were the same. I then tried booting the PC with both sticks installed again, and the outcome was identical to the above (2 beeps, boot time of ~2 minutes).
I have no clue why the initial boot with 2 sticks hadn't yielded the same results as the last test (which is basically back to square one). Maybe I should have waited longer than ~5-6 minutes... I have no clue.
Atm I hear 2 beeps whenever I restart or turn on my PC, and it takes 2 to 3 minutes to boot, whereas it used to take about 10-20 seconds. Also worth mentioning that I also tried looking up the meaning of 2 beeps with my specific MOBO (listed below), and I found this: http://ddr4motherboard.com/beepcodes/ASUS-PRIME-Z270-K. However, I think they're referring to a BIOS update(?), whereas the beeps appeared out of the blue. I had no recent hardware changes.
PC SPECS:
Intel i7 7700k
Asus Prime Z270-K
GTX 1080 Ti
Corsair Vengence LPX 3000Mhz 32GB RAM
