I need a cooling pad for my laptop, but I need help deciding which is better: 2 big fans, or 6 little fans?
Laptop specs (14 x 8.9 x 0.7 inches)
- Dual Core i7 Kabylake
- GTX 940mx
- 15.6" 4K display
- 16 GB RAM
- 512 GB SSD
- All aluminum build
- Battery is located near the bottom (mostly the reason I am concerned with heat, I want it to survive while gaming)
2 big fans
- 150mm (6in)
- 1100rpm
6 little fans
- 70mm (2.7in)
- 1800rpm
If you need more info, you can ask. If you have any recriminations for cooling pads, please let me know (under $20). (Perfered dimensions: about 14 x 9 inches)
Thanks!

I don't know the performance difference between these two but I can tell you the normal comparison between 80mm fan and a 120mm fan is HUGE: 2x the airflow with the 120 vs. the 80. That's why you see so few, if any 80mm fans in aftermarket micro/mid/full size ATX cases, and explains the trend to even larger fans that turn slower, are quieter, and move much more air.
