I have an R9 290 graphic card in my pc. Can I use an other card to run other programs?
For example I use an R5 230 to run windows, google, skype and so on and if I play a game it will run in the R9 290. Not the two cards at the same time. I just want to lower my electric bill. 😀 Thank you in advance for the answers!

Solution
Having 2 cards installed is still drawing electricity for 2 cards. You're not lowering your bill, you're increasing it. Take the R5 230 out.

Go to your driver settings and make sure you have "ULPS" enabled. That will reduce power draw on the R9 290 when you aren't gaming.

The r9 290 will still be there using power but now you'll also have the 230 adding extra power consumption. So instead of lowering the bill you'll just increase it.
