Hello all,

I'm struggling to solve a problem for my cousin.
One of the connections I've setup from the router (Virgin Hub 2.0) to his bedroom PC is working as intended with 1000mbs on a Cat 5e cable.
I've since added another connection from the router to his "VR room", same cable, motherboard Ethernet is rated for 1000mbs, but it's only getting 100mbs.

I'm at a loss as to why this is.

I called his ISP Virgin, and they said the problem is my end.
The Motherboard is a TUF b450-plus which has a Realtek® RTL8111H onboard which is rated 10/100/1000 mbs.
The Cable im using is a new CAT 5e.

I've looked in the bios and the only option for the netgear is on/off.
I've tried enabling the 'Speed and Duplex' under the realtek controller properties to 1000mbs instead of auto to no result.

I've installed the latest drivers to no avail.

I'm not even an amateur when it comes to networking, in the sense I've little experience, is there something obvious I'm missing?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Have your tried using a different router LAN port: either the port currently serving the bedroom PC or another router LAN port?

What happens if you route the known working (1000mbs) Cat5e presently between router and his bedroom PC to between the router and the "VR room" computer?

Any other connected network devices?
