2 cpu s MOBO

hi people, i wonder if a MOBO with two CPU slots like ASUS Z10PE-D16 SSI EEB, can works with just one processor or is strictly necessary, two running CPUs for properly work?

i want buy a 2 CPUs MOBO but i just have the money for one CPU a Xeon E5 V3 CPU. and in a few months I'll buy the second CPU.

i have the other parts , (ssd, ddr4 ram cards, power supply .....) so i just need to know if the PC can run with that MOBO and just one CPU.

Usually, you only have a main cpu and an auxilary, which you don't necessarily need.
