[SOLVED] 2 diff pair of ram

hi so i have 2 diff pairs of ram in my system right now. theyre both the same gskill tridentz but diff speed.
in slot 1 and 3 is the 3200mhz cl16 pair
in slot 2 and 4 is the 2400mhz cl15 pair

i turned on xmp profile in bios for 3200 cl16 (since its what was listed there) and so far i havent really ran into any issues in gaming. Im just wondering if this actually works or is it only 3200mhz for ram 1 and 3 and the other pair is not running at 3200? (is that even a thing)

XMP profiles are for one kit of memory, not some combination of modules you put together.

ah okay that makes sense. So where do so that both pairs are running the same speed?

It is all probably running at 2400.

yeah i figured. Jus looking to see how i can set all of them to 1 speed though.

If you try to run them higher than 2400, but ready for issues and resetting your cmos.

Probably have to set them manually. You'll need the exact specs of each set to do this as well and may have to adjust timings for everything to work.
