Hello, I record youtube videos and recently i have bought a Gtx 970 but i cant render with the card i read online and it seems my editing program Sony Vegas Pro doesnt support newer graphics cards for rendering. I was wondering if i could have my Gtx 970 for Recording and another Amd card for rendering as i do not really want to change my editing program.

You can have multiple. I've had rigs in fact running intel igpu, nvidia and amd all at once. This has nothing to do with them working together, as they won't, but they have no issue running independently. The issue is the software needs to have the option to choose gpu or if not, you can to change primary monitor in windows.
You can't have 2 different types of cards in one machine. If you wanted to 2 way sli you can either go for example , 2x GTX 970, 2 x (AMD card of your choice). If you meant 2 different cards in seperate machines then thats a complete different thing and i can answer accordingly
