I built a PC with a 1060 and ryzen 5 1600 with a 144 hz monitor. I have an old monitor and was hoping to us it, but I didn't know ryzen had no integrated graphics. So now I have an extra monitor sitting on my wall doing nothing. I was hoping to get an other graphics card like the gt 710 to run this second monitor, but I have some doubts because I tried an old graphics card before and it crashed my computer. My question is: can I use my 1060 and an older generation gpu to run 2 separate monitors?

Solution
why dont you plug the second monitor into your 1060? when i got my 980 a few years back it would not run my older 580 in the system, my guess would be the same with the 1060 and 710. But you can run 3 monitors on a 1060.
