Hi,

First, I'm really not sure I'm asking the right question or if it well explained..
So I own a SuperMicro storage with RAID10 (software raid by OMV), all hard drives are SATA.
My question is, Can I switch 1 of the hard drives with a SAS hard drive?
If yes, do I need to create a different raid for the sas drives?
Also, can I combine 2 different raids to 1 file system disk?

Again, I'm really not sure I explained my self well.. sorry about that :)

Big thanks for the helpers!

As far as I know, you can't mix SAS and SATA in the same RAID. Even if you were able to, the capacity and speed would default to the lower of the drives in use. Also, you cannot combine RAIDs unless they're mirrors of each other.
