G Skill Ripjaws Z Series 1600 CL8.

this will be used in an LGA 775 System upgrade with a core 2 quad (hopefully) and DDR3 1600 with a CL of 8 actually gives a nice bump in system performance.

Also if you are wondering why in the hell i am buying DDR3 for such an old system, its because i am waiting for intels broadwell to come out with that 14nm goodness.

Like he said, there isn't any performance difference between these two sets of RAM. No difference in power consumption either. I would recommend getting the Ares though, only because when you get a different computer and you are putting on a large CPU cooler if you ever plan to, the Ares RAM are shorter. So they are less likely to cause issues while putting on a large cooler.
