Which is better AMD Radeon 530 2GB GDDR5 vs Nvdia 940MX DDR3 ? Both laptops have Core i5 8250 and 8 GB DDR4 2400 Ram

Solution
You can't use specs such as the type of ram to rate graphics cards.
Designers use many different specs to achieve a target price/performance level.
The vram is used differently between amd and nvidia drivers.
One way to compare is via the passmark performance ratings.
AMD 530 has a rating of 1002.
Nvidia 940MX is 1251.

I will do only casual gaming usualy FIFa or GTA . Will also be using Cyberlink Power Director for Video Editing. I wont be using this lap for playing high end modern titles. Out of the two which should I choose. Had the Nvdia been GDDR5 it would have been the choice. But it's DDR3

Again, do not pay attention to DDR3/DDR5.
That ram is used exclusively by the graphics adapter. It has no bearing at all on the ram in the laptop or anything else.
You might look to see if your editing app can use CUDA cores to help performance which the nvidia adapter will have.
Your games will be largely limited by the cpu you use, and that will be the same from the specs you listed.

On a laptop, I would look at other things.
Size and type, and resolution of display for instance.
The type and feel of the keyboard.
Does it have a ssd which is great for performance?
If you will run on battery power, how long is run time.
Try each in a store if you can and see which you prefer.

Do you really need portability?
Might not a desktop serve you better?
