I'm doing a PC build, my mobo is an Asus Z87 pro and I want to make my desktop area as big as possible.... Can I put 2 graphics cards in, both the same cards both with 2 DVI monitor hook ups.... And then make the desktop spread over 4 monitors? I'm thinking two side by side and then 2 high, like a 2x2 block of montiors

Each monitor is 1440 x 900.

Any help would be awesome!

Usually, cards have two DVI connectors, one HDMI, and one display port. Adding up to 4 ports on one card.

Having two cards will help performance in games. Hopefully this helps.

**EDIT**

You can tell if a card can do multimonitor setup by looking at the I/O ports in the back of the card.

Also, there should be some kind of manual on how to do things.

I didn't know that... How does that work then, some kind of spliter that allows two monitors on each port? Or are you saying I get one card with 4 ports to connect to?

Sorry for the newbie questions but how do you tell how many monitors you can hook up, is it by the max screen resolution of the card or do most manufacturers say the number of monitors you can connect?
