2 ISPs in a household

I rent a shed in a backyard and get a weak signal from the house’s WiFi. Their internet is pretty slow already so I was thinking of buying a new plan for myself. Is it possible to use a coax splitter from the wall output to separate my cable from their cable and use two different modems?

If you're paying for a second connection, sure.

But if you can run a coax out there, you can run an ethernet as well.
Ethernet cable off the existing router would work, instead of a whole second connection.

In agreement with USAFRet.

My response (overtaken by events) being:

No.

Your internet service will be provided via your own ISP provided coax cable and modem or modem/router.

A connection that you will pay for.

Anything else is likely to be considered theft and you will be prosecuted accordingly.

And I was going to close the thread.....

You currently have the "benefit of the doubt".
