2 monitor setup advice

I just received my ASUS VG278HE 27-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor 144hz 2ms display today and was wondering about 2 monitor set-ups. Benefits and drawbacks. I now have my old 2011 hp 1600x900 display and wondered if its worth trying to hook it up also. If it is, then what's the best way to configure it?

Benefits of using two monitors:

- Extra work space
- Ability to multi-task
- Whole new dimensions when gaming with two monitors

Drawbacks:

- When you move your mouse to the other screen it may not be exactly where you'd expect it to be
- May take up extra space on your desk
- None I can think of as of now
