I have a 144hz Asus VG248QE 1920x1080 monitor and a Philips monitor at 1280x1024 capable of 75hz.

Currently I am running them both with Dual Link DVI but for some reason my 144hz monitor locks down to 60hz while the Philips monitor still runs fine in 75hz.
If I disconnect the Philips monitor and only run my Asus one independently, I can get it to run at 144hz.
Can I not run different resolutions at say (1 monitor 144hz and the other one at 60hz) or is it some other issue?

I can run my Asus monitor at 144hz but then it forces the monitor to a 1280x1024 resolution, And also I tried to switch the DVI cables around and then my Philips monitor didn't even get a signal, The Asus monitor working fine at 144hz.
