I have the RS880 uATX 1.02 mobo (AMD 785G Chipset). I am having trouble with the 2 rear USB 3.0 ports - they are simply not working. Nothing I plug in there registers.. All the other USB ports work perfectly fine. It is just these two that are giving me problems. In a similar post to this one advice was given to download drivers for the USB 3.0 ports. Does anyone know what drivers I need to install for the AMD 785G chipset? Thanks.

I am having a bit of a hard time posting a screen shot on here for some reason, but I did download CPU-Z and here is the info I get under the "Mainboard" tab:

GhostT_Hv,

Yes, you are correct, my motherboard does not have USB 3.0 ports built in. The USB 3.0 ports are installed in my system by way of a separate USB card which is obviously attached to one of the PCI slots in the motherboard.

I will need to take a look inside the case to see if I can identify the manufacturer of the USB card. My computer did not come with a separate disc for the USB card (it's an OEM computer from HP and they only gave me the system recovery discs - I have already installed Windows 7 a few times so I don't think the drivers are in there). I will get back to you on the name of the USB card manufacturer.

okay

Ok, I pulled the USB card out and these are all the details I could see on it:

On the side of the card that shows all the electronics it has a symbol that reads: PSC
On the same side there is something that looks like a chip and it says: NEC Japan D720200F1

On the flip side there is a label that contains the following details:

Assy PN:607782-001
SPN: 608151-001
CT: PBGQD0AABZ20CE
PN: RHA314-5 Rev. A

On the green part of the same side where the label is, it also reads:

CHI314PCB-2 Rev: 2.1
USB3.0 Host Add in Card
PCIe2 x1 10W + EXT 10W

No where does it seem to show a brand name. Do you recognize any of these details?

That's funny. I was just in the middle of reading that as well. Thank you for sending me the link. I will take a look at what information provided by LarryMeBoy. The more I read this the more I realize there must be a wire that is not connected correctly in the motherboard. Thanks again for your help.

You're Welcome :)
