Should I get Windows 10 or stick with Windows 7 for now?
Also, whichever one I decide to get, should I install updates as and when they come about or ignore them completely? I am wary of updates because I think sometimes the OS is fine to begin with and then problems start and I always blame it on updates. Don't know if they do, it just feels like they do.
Also does Windows 7 have a RAM ceiling of 16GB. I read that somewhere earlier but unsure if it was 16/8/32. Might even be incorrect and there is no limit at all. Just want to clarify it

What are your specs? If they are pretty old, then stick with windows 7. Install the updates, I've had strange things happen from windows updates too, however windows updates fixes it after a little while anyways. Plus it helps a LOT to protect you from malware.

Windows 7 Home Premium has a max of 16GB, windows 7 pro/ultimate and all windows 10 versions have a max of 128-192GB.

Wow, that's a big jump. Now I know what the point of getting pro or ultimate might be.
I was thinking of getting a 1150 motherboard and matching components from same "era". Not getting anything brand new for £500 or anything, hoping I can get the whole PC to cost £500 more like.
For memory I was thinking of getting either 4x4 or 2x8, unsure, but a the ceiling was 16GB I was wondering whether that meant 16GB was just within the limits or not possible. Would 8RAM be fine? I just want my next PC to memory to spare rather than not enough
