Basically the title of the thread. He is on the 5ghz wifi and I am on an ethernet connection. I've tried using port forwarding, port triggering, and DMZ. DMZ has been mostly effective, but not always and I don't feel comfortable using it at all for security reasons. The only thing that works is using a VPN but that creates a noticeable amount of lag on multiplayer matches for me. This issue didn't start until he swapped from using a wall adapter to just using wifi since the speed he gets on wifi is faster. My upnp has always been on and I tried with it off. Idk what else to do. Having to mess with the VPN is annoying af. My wife is getting her replacement part soon and we all have regular gaming sessions, and I want this fixed before her part comes in. They were both on wall adapters and we never had issues. My brother swapping to wifi is worrisome.

I have a surfboard sb6190 and a tp-link ac1750 on a 1gb/s internet speed
