2 pin fan LED extension cables for Bitfenix

I have the Bitfenix Hydra Pro Fan controller and Bitfenix Spectre Pro fans. The controller comes with 2 pin LED connectors that can attach to the fans to be able to switch the LED's on and off. My problem is that these connectors on the controller are only 12" long and I need a way to connect them to fans that are further away. What kind on extensions would work for this purpose?

I was looking at this one. Would it work?

if the socket fits, those extensions would work, but for $5 a piece, I would cut the wires, extend them myself for about 50 cents in wire and some heat shrink tubing. How many fans do you have? At $5 a pop, 6-8 fans, starts to add up for something that 50 cents and a soldering iron would fix.
