Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up my first watercooling setup, and I would like to include a temperature sensor that shows water temperature. However, all the sensors have a 2-pin connector, which my motherboard doesn't have. So I was wondering, are there other ways of measuring water temperature through any other inlets, or is there an expansion card or another separate thing that I can connect water temp sensors to?

Solution

My guess (never done a watercooling setup) is you use something like this that has a USB interface.

This is the more polished version .....
I see. That makes it clear.
But do you know if there's any way to connect it so you can see the temperature in a software, such as HWMonitor or Speedan, and regulate pump/fans according to watertemp?

The two pin connection is a thermocouple. You would need to connect that to a thermometer of some kind rather than your motherboard.
No This is incorrect. The other guy had it exactly right and you gave him false information. It's meant to plug straight into the motherboard via the 2-pin header.

The motherboard has a built in temp sensor and that's how it get's the temp reading through an outlet in your loop. the 2 pin connector plugs into the motherboard header the other end into the loop.

That simple. That is not meant for a thermometer.
