2 psu to 1 pump

i've got 2 systems in 1 case and i want to put them on a single watercooling loop. My question is if there is a way to connect on pump to both psu's so it runs if one, the other or even both psu's are running. Is this possible and how do i go about to arrange it?

It doesn't need to run off "both".
Either PSU A or PSU B.

If System A is running, PSU A is on.
If System B is running, PSU B is on.
If both are running, PSU A is still on anyway.

This will require some creative switching and wiring.

But...given a loop big enough to cool 2 systems..is a single pump going to be enough?

It doesn't matter wich one you choose, if one system is running the pump then you can't shut that one down while running the other system because the pump would quit to so i need a redundancy system, it needs to work on each one or both.
or a independant small psu (not a pc one) wich is activated by both of the systems. The pump is powerful enough to take the system, powering it is my problem.

Well, yes.
If it is powered from PSU A, and you have both running, and you shut down System A...you'd need to switch it over to PSU B.

Why wouldn't the same switch from A to B work?
Shut down System A, and just switch it (DPDT switch) to PSU B.

Or were you thinking of some automatic switchology thing?

I was thinking auto, because i don't have easy access to the system when i'm using it. One of the systems is a serverlike one so it's gonna be on 24/7, but i don't wanna risk it failing and cooking my other system. I read something somewhere about a kind of resistor(wasn't called that) between the psu's an the unified connector to cut the backwash of power from one to the other psu, but not being an electrician its all a bit of chinese to me. It did sound like just the thing i needed but was a industrial size psu so don't know if it wil even work on 12v dc.

Autoswitching this up the complexity tenfold.
And "not being an electrician its all a bit of chinese to me" up the complexity of you doing it another tenfold.

What you're looking for is a complete customized wiring/switching job.
There is nothing off the shelf for this.

My pump turns at 50% without pwm, wich should be enough for the serversystem, the pwm would come from the game system so it would go up when i start gaming, fans can be controlled of the mobos, not all fans need to turn allways.
it would be a 3x240 2x120 system so i can devide the fans across them as needed. the server system also doubles as a spare gaming rig for guests hence all the cooling.

Question from maestripieritimo : "looking for electric handyman"

what i want/need:
a way to connect 2 powersupplies to one watercooling pump.
the out needs to get the power from Vin1 and/or Vin2, wich means:
if PSU1 is on / PSU2 is off,
if PSU1 is off / PSU2 is on,
if PSU1 is on / PSU2 is on, the V-out must give 12VDC, i don't care wich one delivers the power as long as i can turn off either system without stopping the pump for the other system. Both PSUs would be connected with preferably a 4-pin molex but the out NEEDS to be a 4-pin molex.

Alternatively a sepperate small 12V PSU that activates if either or both of the PSUs are running would be fine to, but i think this is even more complicated.

Is there someone out there that could make this kind of switchboard for me at a reasonable price?
preferably in europe, to keep shipping down.
