2 questions about what is better.

is the i5 2320 or amd athlon ii x4 635 better?
and i bought an new 8gb ram except its in single mode. got a 4gb rightnow. which is dual mode. which one is better? or are they pretty much the same.

also the cpu is not for my main pc just for some one else since he wanted a cheap working build. (not for gaming)

thanks. i booted up my pc with the new 2x 4gb ddr3 ram but the first time booting with the new ram was looking a bit slower.
is that normal for installing a new ram or did the pc had to install some stuff before booting up with new ram sticks?

As far as RAM goes, 1x 8GB RAM has higher timings and slower memory access time compared to the 2x 4GB. Of course, running 1x 8GB results in a single-channel RAM where running 2x 4GB results in a dual-channel RAM where dual-channel is much faster,
