Help please for custom build. Trying to Narrow down both Mother board and Processor choice

the other specs are likly to be:

• Corsair gold 850w PSU
• 64 GB Corsair LTX Vengence Ram (whats the best STABLE and long lasting speed for i9 9900x and AMD 2950x systems?
• Quadro RTX 4000 GPU
• Operating system drive Samsung EVO 970 Plus or Prop (which is best?) 1 TB drive
• 2 x Seagate Barracuda Pro 4tb drives in a Raid 1 Mirror Array Storage)

When it comes to your SSDs you should have a 500GB just for OS and applications, can just be a SATA as you won't see any difference in performance, then a 1TB NVMe for your projects. Having the Raid 1 for finished work is smart.

If you go 64GB RAM you might be able to make a RAM drive for either caching or project work as well.

How does a 2 ssd and 1 fast hard drive in raid 1 system work in comparision to

1 SSD operating, Project combined drive and raid pair system work?

Also could I just get an extra SSD drive for scratch disk use later ?

project drive as oppose to a operating system, applications and projects in running drive (ie 2 drive 1 working and hard drives in raid for storage work, is it a lot faster?)


At present the laptop I use is 500gb and its always stuffed to the hilt as in less the 10gb space on so really looking for a 1gb + main drive.




But first things first.

Which processor system would be the better way to go for the above and what motherboard please?
