Is there a difference in performance if my motherboard has 2 ram slots vs 4 ram slots?

MSI - B450M PRO-M2

This is the motherboard I'm looking at right now if that help any

Solution
Its all about expanding at a later date.

eg 4 slots are better than 2, if you want to add more RAM later on
2x4 = 8gb
If you wanted to add another 2x4 that would be easy so you would have 16
Now if you have only 2, and you want 16, you have to sell your 2x4 and buy 2x8 - thus costing you more money.

Solution
The only difference will be if you populate all 4 slots. With 2 RAM slots you are only able to install 32GB RAM but able to use the faster RAM. With 4 slots you can have 64GB RAM, but the Ryzen will only support RAM at DDR4-2133MHz in that configuration (might be 2400 on the Ryzen 2's). If you are only going to use 2 of the 4 slots no matter what then the performance will be the same.
