2 samsung pro 960 512 nvme already full. Want to add more storage but concerned with performance.

I have two drives in raid 0 that are full. I primarily play games on the pc. I need to add more storage space but I don't want to sacrifice performance. If I add a sata ssd to the system and my games are installed on that drive will they load slower than the games installed on my 2 drives in raid 0 or should I not be concerned?

While the speeds are significantly greater in favor of the NVME the 960's younger sibling, the 850 Evo, is more than capable of handling the loading of games without issue and without much time difference. Have a huge database that you need to edit on a daily basis? The NVME will be noticeably faster. Just gaming? The 850 is more than enough.

If you have the budget, replace the two 500gb 960 drives with 1tb drives.

Another alternative would be to add a pcie add in card like the intel 750

Really, though, adding a conventional 850 evo seems right.
