Hi all,

I am intending to get G.Skill Trident Z RGB Ram for my Ryzen 1700X build on an MSI Mortar Arctic. I would like 4 pieces of ram (I know its not advisable, but it looks nice), hence I am wondering whats recommended.

Also, anyone know if G.Skill Trident Z RGB Ram is now compatible with Ryzen? https://pcpartpicker.com/b/mmLJ7P This guy seem to have made it work.

Cheers

Solution
I always pick the RAM modules without much thinking or reading the mobo compatibility list and had extremely seldom problem, almost never.
I had only once or twice in life among at least 10 rigs per year since my first built PC in 1998.
All I paid attention to is only DDR2 mobo with DDR2 RAM, DDR3 with DDR3...nothing more.

Only if I need to mix and match kits, I read the specs of the existing RAM carefully and try to find a similar as possible.
2x2x8GB or 4x8GB? Does not really matter as long as the RAMs are the same or still compatible. If they have different colour, you might might wanna check your color theme (esthetic).

Compatible?
You have at least 60% possibility of having compatible RAM by mix and matching kits.
You have over 98% possibility of having compatible RAM to the mainboard, without reading the compatibility list.
