So saw some ocz gold triple channel ram on sale and grabbed it. I already have the same brand in my PC and I thought the new ram I bought was the same specs(timing and latency). When I cracked open my box I soon found out it was different.

The new Ram is 3x2 gb OCZ DDR3 PC3 10666 Gold Series 1333 9-9-9 1.65volts
The Old Ram is 3x2 gb PC3 12800 Gold Series 1600 8-8-8 1.65volts

I built my rig and I know a decent amount but I have to admit that my knowledge of RAM is very limited.
So if I install tis new RAM would I take a performance hit? Should I even bother?

My mother board is an Asus P6t deluxe version 2

If the new RAM had been rated at 1.5v, you might have been able to overclock it to the faster speed and timings by increasing the voltage to 1.65v. But the new RAM is already rated at 1.65v, so it's unlikely to overclock to the faster speed and timings. You can try it though.

You will likely have to change the speed and timings to match the new RAM. So, if you're willing to change to 1333 9-9-9-(24?) at 1.65v for all 12GB then go for it. If not, time to return it (assuming you can).
