2 SSD Question

A buddy of mine is building a new machine, but not for several months. His current build still runs current games decently, but his SSD is filled up.

Would a good option for him be to purchase a 120 GB SSD drive (more than he will need until his new build) to put Call of Duty Black Ops 4 on?

Will there be any performance issues since the game is not on the same SSD as Windows, or no issue?

That would be fine and will still load quick even if it's not on the SSD with Windows.
