Hello,

I am upgrading my two 120 GB SSDs to two 256 GB SSDs.
Everything did run fine before, I will point out.

By motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 REV 4.0.

I have the SSDs in the same slots as the two previous to it, SATA 0 and 1.

Create the array in the Marvell interface, then start the Windows installer.

I load the appropriate drivers from a USB so I can see all of my attached drives (I will be installing from a CD).

After loading the driver, my RAID of 2x 256 GB SSDs are not seen, but my two other hard drives are visible.

So I checked the BIOS, and the RAID array status, and everything checks out. I could not get them visible by windows under any circumstance, even in DISKPART via the command prompt.

I reinserted the old 120GB SSDs and repeated the process, and the RAID array was visible.

I put the new 256 GB SSDs in a separate desktop, and did a basic formatting of them to see what would happen, to no avail.

The drives are still not visible.

Am I missing something?

--Thanks as always!

Solution
So after some searching, I ended up on Crucial's website. In the forums there, I found an article talking about my exact problem.

The answer simply is...
There is a comparability issue with the RAID controller and the memory controller in the SSD.

Very unfortunate. But hey, at least my HTPC has an SSD now, right?

Thanks for the replies.
