Hi

So i recently had a slight disagreement with a friend who said that having 2 sticks of ram in a single channel motherboard would yield better results than a single stick of ram in the same motherboard.

the example that he used was that it was better to fill both (Only 2) dimm slots with 2 sticks of ddr4 8gb ram rather than using only a single 16gb stick.

my position on this whole thing is that having 2 sticks of ram in a motherboard with only a single memory channel won't yield better results on account of both sticks having to compete over the same memory bandwidth. and that if you wanted to see any improved results you would first need to get a Motherboard that had dual channel dimm slots.

Any help would be appreciated. we tried googling it but came up with a bunch of unrelated junk.
