2 vga ports, can i conect monitor to both?

Hello, i have a problem with my gpu, it has 2 dvi ports and my monitor is vga, and when i conect it with an adapter my pc shuts down. But i have one vga port which is not on the gpu, but when i put the monitor cable there i don't get the signal to the monitor, also there is a small picture under that vga monitor which shows like a monitor and a tape, so not sure what it is. If you can just tell me if possible how to connect monitor to this vga so i can see if adapter is causing the problem. Thanks

Your video output form your motherboard will get turned off by the gpu in your pci slot you can only use video output from the GPU

is it somehow possible to turn it on even with the gpu?

i think some of the x79 chipset's have it enabled but no unless your motherboard/ chipset allow it you cannot
