Hey guys.

I need your opinion for 4k gaming setup, I can choose between these setups:

3x 390 8gb
2x 390x 8gb

Nvidia is basically out of the question, AMD scales better with multiple GPU's at 4k, + SLI is basically shit. Have a friend that had 2x 970 sli, always had issues with it. I have never had issues with crossfire.

Nah, AMD scales pretty well. I need to run 4k in gaming, and I don't want 30 fps at best in newer games.

Btw, I were looking at the RM1000i from Corsair (PSU), but I suppose with a trifire setup, it would be too low wattage for full load. (With skylake setup)

Not quite.

I am not sure that 2x 390x is worth the extra money, compared to 2x 390's, 2x 390x is around the same price as 3x 390's which is why I am asking.
I would think that 3x 390's would be better than 2x 390x, or is that just me? I know they scale worse with more GPU's, but compared like this, wouldn't the trifire beat the crossfire?

Or maybe just go with 1x fury X or 980 ti, + one down the road?
