Hey guys,

after doing some searches online for awhile, I was unable to find the information I wanted regarding a 2-way SLI setup using a GTX 670 superclocked with 4GB VRAM and a GTX 670 superclocked with 2GB VRAM.

I currently have a GTX 670 SC with 4GB and was looking to do a 2-way SLI setup. My question is simple: Could I run the SLI setup with one of each card? Or will I need to have both be the 4GB version?

Thanks!

It should be ok but i think both your cards will only use 2gb each so the extra 2gb will be redundant. Think the clocks and speed settings have to match also but can be from different manufacturers. Sure someone will give you a bit more info

I think you're getting CrossFire and SLI confused MemoFlex.

SLI with a 4GB GTX670 and a 2GB GTX670 is not possible. It. Will. Not. Work.

It's sad, but true. I have a 2GB and a 4GB GTX670 in my computer right now and have been trying to get SLI to work; to no avail.

Years ago, you could use a 'coolbits' registry tweak to enable SLI in nVidia cards with different memory sizes, but that no longer works either. With the GTX670s, the coolbits tweak just makes your computer BSOD when you try to run a game with SLI enabled. And then you have to unintsall/reinstall your drivers before you can get your display size to 1080p again.

With CrossFire, different memory is not a problem, but if you want to SLI, you should really buy two of the exact same GPUs.

me too I'm trying to sli 2x2gb 680s with a 4gb one and it doesn't work
thanks for your post :)
