[SOLVED] 2-Wired PCs: One PC Internet Interruption when Other PC Turned On/Off

I recently switched to Centurylink Fiber and have had an issue where turning on/off one of my hardwired PCs drops the internet of my second one for 10-20 seconds. This also interrupts games/streams/web browsing. I can't seem to find anything in particular posted online for this someone specific issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you using their router? If so, then I'd call them as it sounds like a problem with their stuff.

Hey Samir,

Thanks for the response. I am using my own router (Netgear Nighthawk AC3200 R8000). Didn't experience this on cable with comcast.

It's a real oddball, that's for sure.

Is your router the only router in the network? So their unit is basically a 'modem'?

Correct. It's just the modem and converter box for their fiber signal. My two computers are right next to each other and hardwired. if I restart or turn off either one it'll cut the internet signal for a few seconds. Got me stumped too.

Try "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Failing that, run "ipconfig /all" on each computer and post the results.
