Question 2 x 4GB or 1 x 8GB if upgrading in future? (4 sockets/Dual channel)

I'm choosing the components for my nephew's build. I am getting the Gigabyte B450M-DS3H which supports dual channel but as I'm building on a budget I just want to get 8GB of RAM for now, rather than 16GB with the plan to upgrade in the future. Should I get 2 x 4GB or 1 x 8GB stick(s)?

2x4GB is the way to go. Ryzen's are very picky about RAM bandwidth and in a 1x8GB you will only have 1/2 the bandwidth it is expecting.
