2 x gtx 690 in SLI vs single gtx 690

Solution
They do advertise it.
Because they do support it.

Look it up.
NVIDIA Quad SLI® Technology
One of the last features.

Also, there is no way you can do 3 way crossfire with the GTX 690 because it is a dual GPU card.
2 times 2 equals 4 (Quad).

They advertise 3 way SLI on single GPU cards and quad SLI on dual GPU ones.

Also, the GTX 690 is not a 7 series card. Not that that's a con.
Nvidia doesn't advertise Quad SLI on 7 series cards, due to the fact that there is no dual-GPU card in the 7th series.
Look at this graph right here.

And cookybiscuit, how could you say that Quad SLI isn't officially supported?
It IS supported. nvidia even has a guide on how to use it.

As for scaling, it's not great, but why would you even need more power? You've already got a GTX 690.
There probably isn't a game out there you can't play maxed out on a single monitor without a butter smooth framerate.

Because they don't, read any of the information Nvidia puts out with its card and it will say 'up to 3 way SLI'. In fact, theres not a single 700 series card that officially supports Quad SLI, you'd think if it works they'd advertise it.

Solution
I'm well aware the 690 is dual GPU, and well aware that if you put 4 GPU's together you can play games on it, but it doesn't have any benefit, hence Nvidia only offering 3 way.

The 690 not being in the 700 series is besides the point. They are still Kepler and shows Nvidia's thoughts on 4 way if they don't even acknowledge it.

Why? Why don't you read my comment first?

NVIDIA Quad SLI® Technology3
Used by the most demanding gamers worldwide, Quad SLI lets you link up to two GeForce GTX 690s together for astounding performance. And with NVIDIA’s track record for fast and frequent software updates, you’ll not only get the best performance in existing games, but future games too.

It says QUAD SLI. Not Tri Way SLI. They support it.

This post is damn old but still, that guy is right, Nvidia do support quad sli.. you should try to read first... it clearly says this..NVIDIA SLI supports the use of up to 4 GPUs, and thanks to FCAT, SLI is certified by independent press as fast, smooth and responsive.

Anyways, i was searching on inthernet to see if its worth putting 2 gtx 690 togheter, but from the link kamen gived here,,, the performances are stunning.. <3

It's supported so it must mean 4x the performance in every game ever made, right?

Nvidia mean up to 4 GPU cores. Not necessarily 4X the performance, but 4 is better than 3 or two or one, the scaling does not have to be linear. However with the GTX 690 can only have two cards max, i.e. 4 GPU cores from two cards each GTX 690 with a pair of GPU cores.
