Question 2 X M.2 Sockets - Wich one for OS?

Hi everyone!

I recently made a system configuration with:

• ASRock X470 Master SLI motherboard, wich has 1 x Ultra M.2 Socket and 1 x M.2 Socket
• 1 x SSD M.2 Intel 660p Series 512GB (1500 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write)
• 1 x SSD M.2 HP EX900 250GB (2100 MB/s read and 1300 MB/s write)

My purpose was to install the HP EX900 SSD (wich is faster) in the Ultra M.2 Socket, as a system drive for OS and all programs.
And the Intel 660p SSD was going to be installed in the second M.2 Socket to run as a work drive for Adobe Premiere projects i'm working on and Premiere's cache files.

Now i have second thoughts... should i change them between each other?
I mean system SSD on second M.2 Socket, and work SSD on Ultra M.2 Socket?

How is better?

Faster one in Ultra slot as second M.2 slot runs only in SATA or PCIe x2 mode although I doub't you'd see any difference in speeds even if it was the other way around.

I understand. Second M.2 runs in PCIe. But in my case, wich one is better as system drive (OS & programs) ?
I use adobe Premiere heavily as i am a professional videographer.

If 250 GB is enough space for your working drive, it might be best to do OS and applications on the 500 GB, 250 GB as scratch space (in the fast M.2 slot).

I use adobe Premiere heavily as i am a professional videographer.

Both run in PCIe mode, only the first one runs in x4 mode which is faster (NVMe) than X2 mode (SATA speeds) of the second M.2 slot.
