im wired up for a crossfire setup but need an upgrade in the graphics card department.

i can get 2 x1950PROs for the same combined price of 1 x1950XTX. I was going to but the 2 PROS but then thought it might be better getting an XTX and then adding another one in 6 months time.
would anyone agree?

is it even worth upgrading now or would it be wise to wait for more details on direct x10?

i really need an upgrade as my x800PRO is depressing me.

pls help!

a 1950xtx is $449 over at newegg, the 8800gts if $20 more. go for the 8800gts, it'll blow the away x1950xtx and the 1950pro crossfire setup.

why are you getting a socket 939 board? if your going to go with AMD it should be with socket AM2. 939 is dying, and will soon be dead.

but anyway, it should support nvidia cards. i mean, theres no reason it wouldnt. but im not 100% on that. are you set with that mobo? like have you already bought it? if not then you could go with a different one.

dx10 isnt going to outdate dx9 cards within months, it'll probably take about a year for a good number of games to support it. but the performance increase compared to the x1950xtx is nice and you have a little more future proof-ability.

i already have the 939 board, ive had it for about 10 months now, back then it was one of the best available. for now my AMD 3800 is doing fine but i would like to omprove the graphics card, then early next year i will fit a new mobo with a dual core cpu...

this month i want the card and a 22 inch monitor though
