Question 2 ZONE RECEIVER OPTIONS.

i have a living room with 5 wall/ceiling speakers and a patio with 4 speakers. all wires come into a closet in the hall way. what i want is a 2 zone receiver that can play two separate audio at the same time. ie: watch tv and listen to music outside at the same time using a tablet and smart phones to control everything. is this possible? am i looking at a $1000+ receiver? ive tried searching but cant find my answer on here.

Most mid-range ($500) have this, some of them can play either one-zone 7.1, or two-zone 5.1 + 2.0

Great. I guess my next question is speaker impedance. I measured the in ceiling speakers resistance and got a pretty high number of like 34ohms. Unless I'm doing it wrong this seem extremely high. These are new speakers never been used. Could the length of wire or wire type cause that much resistance added to the speaker?

Unbolt these speakers from the ceiling, and check directly on the terminals, before ripping the walls. Check your ohm-meter as well

Meter was messed up and not showing the decimal. Internal resistance is .2 ohms. Speakers show 7.8 at the wires in the closet. So 7.6ohms.
