and to answer your question, yes the hdd will carry over fine. will have to format it and reinstall windows. back up any data first and then wipe it clean for the new parts. you can also reuse the ram if you have enough already or add it to what your getting with this build. mobo has 2 slots and you only picked a single stick so can use another stick you already have.
