Okay I want to build a gaming rig. My budget is 2000.
It will be used primarily for gaming but I would like 8gb+ of ram for 3d imaging programs.
otherwise I do not need a monitor, mouse keyboard etc. Only the OS and tower are needed.
My attempt
Intel i7 2600k
Evga super clocked gtx580
Asrock z68 extreme4
Corsair pro 850w silver plus modular psi
Crucial 128gb SSD
WD black caviar 64 mb cache 2tb HDD
Cooler master haf x
Corsair vengeance 16gb(4x4) ram
Windows 7 home -ultimate

You can either make suggestion to my build or give me a new one all together have fun :) and I will be discussing which build is the best for my final decision thank you.

Right now very few games can take advantage of more than 3 threads. Because of this limitation the value of the hyper-threading on an Intel® Core™ i7-2600K is very minimal for gaming. So unless you are also going to be doing some video/audio or some other heavily multi-threaded application with this system I would advise that you step down to the Intel Core i5-2500K as it will give you very close to the same performance while saving you some money.

Also on the memory make sure that the memory you select is the 1.5v and not the 1.65v as Corsair does product both in the Vengeance line.
