Build your own PC, this way you know ahead of time how everything works, upgrade paths, better hardware, you don't get ripped off, etc....

Let me know if you need any help building something that wont break the bank and still be powerfull....

With 2k you can build a serious machine that will leave the cyberpower in the dust..... :pfff:

Here is an example just so you can get an idea of what 2k can buy......

1,741$ shipped..... you can add remove hardware to your specific needs, but this is an example of why you should not buy pre-built systems.....

$2000 at CyberCrap? The GTS 250 is a weak card. It's suppose to be a re-badged 9800 GTX but the 9800 GTX+ is still a better card. I'd get at least a GTX 260.

You should also get a WD Black hard drive or 2 of them in Raid-0.

Don't get the Killer NIC. They are way overrated. You won't even notice the "so called performance boost". Put that money towards your video cards or a better sound card instead.

Also, that 950 watt PSU is overkill. You probably won't need a huge PSU unless you're running the EVGA X58 Classified motherboard.

With the Lynnfield (1156) processors out, the price should drop a little, but who knows. Intel has got this big scheme to raise the prices of 1366 processors and make the 1156 processors main stream.

I myself have 2 i7 920 builds and am still happy with them after seeing the Lynnfield benchmarks.

Why would the 250 be a weak card? I used to own 2 of them in SLI and they would eat anything I threw at them.....Just cause they are re-badged 9800GTX's does not mean they are weak....

BTW, the 250 uses less power and it slightly out-performs the 9800GTX+.... Don't give out misleading info, make sure you know what you are talking about....

I say it's weak because there's very little performance gains, if any, by going from a 9800 GTX or 9800 GTX+ to a GTS 250. It's the same shhitt.

Yea I agree but I used to have a 9800GTX+ and it was bulky, hot and a power hog.. The 250 was alot better in my opinion....

Here is a pic back when I had the GTX+ , don't know who designed the cooling method on the model I puchased but I can assure you he was fired the next day....

Extremely sorry as the mail notification never came BUT I have some things to tell you all:

The GTS250 is a re-branded 9800 GTX+ with a new board with like 1.5" difference in length (1GB version) and like 1~3% performance gain.

For 2K you should consider this:

i7 920 D0 $200
Asus RIIE (Burn money) or P6TD Deluxe (slightly less burning for money!) $350~250
6GB 12800 Corsair XMS3 1600MHz Cas7 7-7-7-20-1t $160
Intel "X25" (please correct the model no.) G2 64GB FW2 $~200~
Lite-On, LG or Pioneer Blu-Ray burner $150~
SAMSUNG F3 2X 1TB RAID0 $~220
Corsair HX850 or HX1000 $190~
Megahalems or something similar $90~
Arctic cooling MX-3 $10
Cooler Master HAF 932 or even Lian Li or Silver-Stone $140+

Wait for HD5000 And even the new X58 boards with SATA 6GBit/s USB 3.0 and even JUST MAYBE PCI-e 3.0 x32 or something.

Oh, And please FORGET ALL ABOUT CYBERPOWER EVEN IF THEY OFFER A PC WITH i7 975 FOR $0.1! (Maybe I'll re-consider them its time :D )

Hope helped you some.

Regards.

5. Someone else to help!
6. CAUTION, CAUTION AND CAUTION!!!
7. And...
Well consider reading this: http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/build_a_500_pc_play_crysis_40fps?page=0%2C0

Hope that answered your Q, Also read my other post regarding this in the thread "2 GTS250 or 1 GTX275".

I was going to wait for the new X58 boards until I read somewhere that PCI-E 3.0 has been delayed. It probably won't be out until late 2010, early 2011. Technology is moving so fast. Its best to just buy what's top end right now and upgrade later, otherwise it will be a never ending wait for the latest and greatest motherboard. There's probably something in works right now that will top the EVGA x58 Classified 4 Way SLI in about 2-3 months.

The Classified 4 way is Overkill anyways... who is going to buy 4 GPU's and what game will benefit off of a setup like that? IMO unless you are trying to break a record, you are wasting your time with a board of that caliber....

Yes for the PCI-e 3.0 but we can live without it now and our PCs performs fairly well (See Signature :D !) BUT the SATA 6GBit/s is already out for P55 and in about a month new X58 mobos will be out with SATA 6GBit/s and USB 3.0 BECAUSE considering the X58 platform is for ultimate enthusiasts Mobos' vendors will keep in mind they want the LATEST tech available.

For the eVGA Classified and 4 way SLI (most overrated Mobo ever!!) they aren't that great as all of you think it doesn't have anything new for OC'ing (Except 300% Gold content MAYBE) and the Asus Rampage II Extreme outperforms it in ALL tests and the NF200 chip simply SPLITS the existing x36 lanes to offer the additional ones which makes the transfer between the GFX Cards faster BUT not between the GFX Cards and CPU so nothing improved.

Please correct me if I'm missing anything as most of those Info were collected by reading the threads here in TH.

Regards.
