I have an old PC which is a 2007 ZooStorm PC running Windows Vista Home Premium. I left it on today as it is on 24/7 to come back home to find that this PC had frozen completely and that it could be reset by holding the power button down. I know this PC is ancient, this is not my main PC but just another PC that is used as a home server. When I got back the case was red hot so the shut down overheat safety feature obviously did not kick in.
PC Specs:
1.6 GHz Dual Core Intel processor
2GB ram
Western Digital 320GB Sata HDD
Foxconn motherboard
1024X768 monitor
IDE DVD-RW
(I used the built in Intel Graphics)
(I do not know anything else about this computer, even though I had from new, the stickers have all peeled off over time)
Now when I press the button on PC it lights up for about a second and then just shuts down. Sometimes it will turn on but nothing happens (not even the HDD spins up).
I have tried spare pieces of RAM, a power pack from another computer, another HDD and nothing seems to work.
I have a feeling that the MotherBoard is fried but is there any other options before I tare it down for parts.
(not sure if this was the correct section to post this in, first time poster)
