2009 best video card for 1080p HD

Have an Asus EN8600 GTS 265MB DDR3 card running a 23" Apple Cinema Display @ 1920 x 1200. Will upgrading to 512MB or 1G make a difference? No gamimg, just want fast smooth HD graphics. Proc is Duo Core E6750, Intel 80G SSD. 8GB DDR-2

If I were you I would purchase either a HD4870 or HD5770, both will do what you need extremely well.
