I am running a 27 Inch 2009 i7 iMac which was having problems, The graphics card has been repaired before.

When I turned it on It had these lines on the screen.

I was told it was an LCD problem by a user.
I went ahead and ordered an LCD, I installed it and booted it up again and as you guessed the problem is still here.
Is this a graphics card fault or and LCD fault? (Second LCD)

I bought a cable to attach it to an external monitor and there is no problem on the external monitor.

While I'm not too familiar with Macintosh computers, I'm not too bad at graphics cards and displays... Might as well add my two cents...

I can think of a couple possibilities.

1) There may be a problem with the connector on your graphics card. However, I would think it would also occur on the external display if this was the case.

2) Whatever kind of cable you're using to connect the display to the card may be having a problem.

I will go and re-plug the graphics card in and see what it does. what connectors do you think could be causing this to happen?

Thanks

Whatever connector the display uses to connect to the graphics card...

Re-installed the graphics card and re-plugged everything back in. Still with the same problem.

Alright, Thank you very much for the suggestions and help, it is much appreciated.

Do you know any Mac forums I could try to get a fix from?

Thanks
