So guys, my PC is a 2010 build which I spend most of the time gaming or working. It is a pretty good machine, considering the year I got it, since it still does a very good job on most games and rendering softwares. Anyway, I will upgrade my HDD and I was thinking if it's worth upgrading my graphics card to a new one, but keeping the rest of the PC. I want more performance as new games comes, and want my games to run smoother. I play competitive games and I want them to be running like butter :) . I have a GTX460 1GB and I was thinking in upgrade to a GTX960 or GTX770.
Could I get a new one and boost performance a little bit? Or should I get a new build for myself?

This is my build:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE 3.2GHz
16GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1333MHz (4 x 4GB)
SATA II Seagate 500GB 7200RPM
EVGA GTX 460 1GB
Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4
1080p monitor @60Hz

Solution
You could upgrade the gtx 460 to gtx 960 and get significant improvement in performance. No need to upgrade the whole build.
Your processor is good enough for almost all the newer games. And you can always overclock it.

Solution
As bharat said still there is no need to change the whole system. I did that replacing phenom ii x6 1055t with system below and didn't notice any significant difference on the cpu side except the improvement which is result of a new more powerful gpu.

Best luck!

So, no bottlenecking from CPU? 😀
I also will upgrade my HDD to a SATA3 3TB, I think this will help a lot too..
